About the Role: Customer Service Advocate II

We're seeking an experienced Customer Service Advocate II to join our team at blithequark. As a key member of our customer service and claims staff, you'll be responsible for handling customer inquiries from providers and members with promptness, accuracy, and courtesy. Key Responsibilities:

  • Provides prompt, accurate, thorough, and courteous responses to all customer inquiries, often requiring deviation from standard screens, scripts, and procedures.
  • Performs research as needed to resolve inquiries, ensuring effective customer relations and accurate documentation.
  • Initiates or processes adjustments, coordinates with other departments to resolve problems, and responds to priority inquiries and special projects as required by management.
  • Provides feedback to management regarding customer problems, questions, and needs, maintaining accurate records on complaints and making recommendations for changes.
  • Maintains basic knowledge of quality work instructions and company policies, assisting with process improvements and maintaining departmental productivity, quality, and timeliness standards.
  • Assists with the training of new employees and cross-training of coworkers, promoting a culture of knowledge sharing and collaboration.

Essential Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate Degree preferred.
  • 1 year of claims processing or customer service experience required; Bachelor's Degree in lieu of work experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with proficient spelling, punctuation, and grammar.
  • Strong human relations and organizational skills, with the ability to handle high-stress situations and maintain good judgment.
  • Ability to handle confidential or sensitive information with discretion and learn and operate multiple computer systems effectively and efficiently.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3 years of customer service or call center experience.
  • Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database software.
  • Leadership skills, adaptability, and patience.
