Key Responsibilities

  • Handle a high volume of customer service calls in a prompt and courteous manner, resolving patient questions and problems regarding patient accounts, payments, and services.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and provide clear, concise, and understandable information to patients and customers.
  • Utilize Microsoft Office products and navigate the internet with ease, ensuring seamless communication and efficient problem-solving.
  • Provide outstanding customer service, deescalating difficult situations and remaining positive in all interactions with patients and customers.
  • Take patient demographics and other patient information as needed, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Review explanation of benefit (EOB) documentation, notate accounts on collection activity, and perform account resolution.
  • Review patient bills for accuracy and completeness, obtaining any missing information and ensuring timely and accurate billing.
  • Collect patient payments in accordance with payment due dates, establishing payment plans within approved guidelines.
  • Complete and mail necessary patient statements, returning mail in a timely manner.
  • Create an atmosphere of comfort, peace, and trust for patients, making it easy for them to interact with blithequark.
  • Answer all phone calls within 2 minutes of the call hitting the system, responding to an average of 65 calls per day.
  • Attend in-services, seminars, and webinars for additional education and performance improvement, staying up-to-date on industry developments and best practices.

Requirements and Qualifications

Essential Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1 year of experience in customer service and/or call center industry, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products and internet navigation.
  • Ability to provide outstanding customer service and deescalate difficult situations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Customer Service Basics or equivalent training.
  • Experience working in a remote or virtual environment.
  • Familiarity with healthcare industry and patient accounts.
