We are now seeking an experienced External Support Engineer to join our team, who will serve as a bridge between our content teams and tools engineering team.

About the Role

As an External Support Engineer at blithequark, you will be the first point of contact for content teams that encounter issues with our tools. You will provide technical support, create reference materials, and offer training to ensure that our external teams can effectively use our toolset. Your primary goal will be to quickly resolve issues, filter feedback, and escalate complex problems to our tools development team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support to content/external teams regarding the use of content tools, ensuring seamless integration and efficient workflow.
  • Create comprehensive reference materials and provide training to get external teams up to speed with our toolset, promoting knowledge sharing and adoption.
  • Solve and debug possible issues with tools and workflows to quickly resolve issues for users, minimizing downtime and optimizing productivity.
  • Escalate more complex or problematic issues to the tool development team, and collaborate with production to track these issues in JIRA, ensuring effective issue management.
  • Advocate for tools, workflow improvements, and suggestions from external teams, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Partner with other engineers to develop tools and processes that improve efficiency and quality, driving business growth and excellence.
  • Guide or lead cross-disciplinary dialogs to drive features from initial concept to completion, ensuring successful project delivery.
  • Exemplify reliability, accountability, and professionalism in all work-related interactions, upholding the highest standards of customer satisfaction.

Requirements and Qualifications

Essential Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to read and understand C# code, with a strong foundation in programming principles.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience working with external partners and stakeholders.
  • Positive attitude and ability to receive and provide objective and constructive feedback, promoting a culture of continuous learning and growth.
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage numerous requests simultaneously, ensuring effective time management.
  • Self-motivating and able to work independently, with minimal supervision, demonstrating initiative and accountability.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Computer Science or related degree, or equivalent work experience, providing a strong foundation in technical skills.
  • Experience supporting a live service or tool environment, with a proven track record of success in a similar role.
  • Unity 3D game and tool development experience, with a strong understanding of game development principles and tools.
  • Experience with Jira, Confluence, or other defect-tracking software, with a strong understanding of issue management and tracking.
  • iOS and Android mobile development experience, with a strong understanding of mobile development principles and best practices.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Competitive salary range of $150,000 - $325,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
