As a Staff Data Scientist, Supply Growth, you'll be an integral part of our team, driving initiatives that bring high-quality supply onto Airbnb, merchandising and showcasing this supply to our guests, and creating frameworks to understand our supply at a deeper level. Key Responsibilities • Building Data Products and Inference Frameworks: Develop and deploy data products, inference frameworks, and intelligence to power and inform supply growth levers, driving business outcomes and optimizing our marketplace. • Analyzing and Modeling: Perform analysis and develop models to inform how to bring high-quality supply onto Airbnb, and how to best merchandise and showcase this supply to our guests. • Measurement and Experimentation: Create measurement frameworks and design experiments to access the tradeoffs and incremental benefits of new growth levers, ensuring data-driven decision-making. • Identifying and Improving Suboptimal Host Products: Build and operationalize systems to identify suboptimal host products and formulate end-to-end solutions to improve them, enhancing the overall guest experience. • Mentorship and Technical Excellence: Provide mentorship to other data scientists, exemplifying a high bar for technical excellence and driving the growth and development of our team. A Typical Day As a Staff Data Scientist, Supply Growth, your day will be filled with a mix of insights, measurement, building, and communication. You'll: • Generate Insights: Analyze our supply to discover ways to continually improve our marketplace, identifying opportunities for growth and optimization. • Apply Causal Inference Methods: Use causal inference methods and design experiments to estimate the effect of Airbnb's growth levers, driving data-driven decision-making. • Develop Inference Frameworks and Models: Build and deploy inference frameworks, models, prototypes, and data products to scale your ideas, driving business outcomes. • Communicate Technical Work: Regularly present technical work to stakeholders, generating excitement and getting buy-in on ideas, and driving collaboration across teams. Your Expertise To succeed in this role, you'll need: • 9+ Years of Relevant Industry Experience: A strong background in data science, ideally with a Master's degree or PhD in a quantitative field. • Technical Skills: Fluency in Python or R for hands-on IC work and SQL for advanced data analysis at scale, as well as experience with inference and machine learning techniques. • End-to-End Solution Development: Experience with the end-to-end lifecycle of building statistical and ML solutions, from ideation to deployment in production. • Collaboration and Communication: Proven ability to succeed in collaborative environments with cross-functional stakeholders and also in independent work environments, with strong communication skills. Location and Work Environment This position is US - Remote Eligible, allowing you to work from anywhere in the US (except for certain excluded states). While the role is remote eligible, you may be required to attend occasional meetings at an Airbnb office or offsites, as agreed upon with your manager. How We'll Take Care of You Our job titles may span more than one career level, and the actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, and market demands. The base pay range for this role is $192,000 - $243,000 USD. You may also be eligible for bonus, equity, benefits, and Employee Travel Credits.
