About the Role
As a Senior Data Scientist for Apple Intelligence, you'll be at the forefront of using analytical and engineering methods to develop conceptual abstractions and automation strategies that uncover insights in user and LLM training data. Your scope will span all areas of Siri functionality and extend into Apple's new Apple Intelligence product strategy, with the goal of driving up product quality aligned with the future of AI.
Key Responsibilities
- Investigate worldwide product usage to identify weaknesses and opportunities to make Siri and Apple Intelligence better, across an array of products including iPhone, HomePod, Mac, and new products yet-to-be-released.
 - Define metrics and design A/B tests with instrumentation to assess the success of new features, ensuring data-driven decision-making.
 - Build and maintain strong relationships with Engineering leads and product partners across the Siri product ecosystem to drive a privacy-first strategy for analytical insight.
 - Employ a diverse toolkit of rigorous analytical approaches, methodologies, frameworks, and technical strategies to uncover opportunities to improve Siri and Apple Intelligence.
 - Build credibility with partners through clarity and structured, strategic thinking, presenting analytical insights via papers and presentations.
 
Essential Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you'll need:
- 5+ years of experience or equivalent as a data science practitioner, with a strong track record of driving business outcomes through data-driven insights.
 - Proficiency in applying quantitative methods to structured and unstructured data for exploratory data analysis, pattern recognition, insights generation, metrics development, and scaling reports.
 - Strong programming skills in data manipulation and processing, including SQL, Python, and ideally software engineering experience.
 - Experience with understanding the complexity of user behavior via deep-dive investigations, as well as designing, analyzing, and interpreting A/B experiments.
 - Self-motivation and curiosity, with demonstrated creative and critical thinking capabilities and an innate drive to figure out and improve how things work.
 - A Master's Degree in a technical or quantitative field such as Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, Economics, or Physics (PhD preferred).
 
Preferred Qualifications

- A high tolerance for ambiguity, with the ability to find a way through complex challenges and anticipate opportunities.
 - Excellent verbal and written communications skills, with demonstrated experience in authoring and presenting analytical insights via papers and presentations.
 - Experience in cultivating stakeholder relationships and influencing decisions with data, driving business outcomes through data-driven insights.
 - A Master's or PhD (or equivalent) in a quantitative field, with a strong foundation in statistical analysis and machine learning.
 - Experience with Natural Language Processing (NLP) and development of dataset and analysis conceptual methodologies.

At Apple, we're committed to providing a comprehensive compensation package that reflects our values and appreciation for our employees' hard work and dedication. The base pay range for this role is between $135,400 and $250,600, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
