About Our Company and the Role
Our Customer Service team is a global entity that supports customers in 16 languages from over 130 locations worldwide. As a Remote Chat Support Agent, you will be the first point of contact for customers who have questions or concerns about our products or services. You will be responsible for responding to customer inquiries via chat in a timely and professional manner, resolving customer issues and complaints, and providing feedback to management on customer concerns and trends.
Our technology and product teams build world-class customer relationship management systems and innovative self-service solutions that are used by millions of customers every day on Amazon's websites, shopping apps, and through Amazon's family of devices such as Kindle and Amazon Echo. As a Customer Support Specialist, you will be an integral part of this ecosystem, working closely with other teams to ensure that customers receive the best possible experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond to customer inquiries via chat: You will respond to customer inquiries in a timely and professional manner, ensuring that customers feel valued and heard.
 - Resolve customer issues and complaints: You will provide appropriate solutions and alternatives to resolve customer issues and complaints, ensuring that customers are satisfied with the outcome.
 - Follow up with customers: You will follow up with customers to ensure that their issues are fully resolved and that they are satisfied with the outcome.
 - Research and provide accurate information: You will use available resources to research and provide accurate information to customers, staying up-to-date on the latest products and services.
 - Identify and escalate priority issues: You will identify priority issues and escalate them to the appropriate department for resolution, ensuring that urgent issues are addressed promptly.
 - Meet performance metrics: You will meet daily and weekly performance metrics, including metrics related to customer satisfaction, response times, and issue resolution times.
 - Provide feedback to management: You will provide feedback to management on customer concerns, trends, and issues, helping to identify areas for improvement and drive business decisions.
 
Essential and Preferred Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Excellent communication skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential for success in this role, as you will be communicating with customers and team members through various channels.
 - Customer service experience: Previous customer service experience is highly desirable, particularly in a fast-paced, dynamic environment like Amazon.
 - Technical skills: You will need to be comfortable using various software applications, such as chat software, email clients, and customer relationship management (CRM) systems. Familiarity with Amazon Seller Central is a plus.
 - Problem-solving skills: You will need to be a problem solver, able to assess customer needs, analyze information, and provide creative solutions to help customers resolve their issues.
 - Self-motivation and discipline: Working from home requires discipline and self-motivation, as you will need to stay focused and manage your time effectively in a distracting environment.
 - Adaptability and flexibility: You will need to be adaptable and flexible, able to respond to changes in technology, processes, and procedures, and adjust to shifting customer needs.
