Key Responsibilities
- Supervise the data engineering work of various specialists on the project, ensuring high-quality deliverables and timely completion.
 - Design, develop, and deliver scalable and efficient data solutions that meet business requirements and drive customer satisfaction.
 - Ensure the quality, reliability, and security of data solutions through rigorous testing, monitoring, and improvement.
 - Build and deliver high-quality data architecture and pipelines to support business reporting needs and drive data-driven decision-making.
 - Monitor data pipelines and proactively identify and resolve any performance or reliability issues, ensuring seamless data flow and minimal downtime.
 - Ensure data quality and reliability by implementing data validation, error handling, and data cleansing techniques, maintaining the highest standards of data integrity.
 - Collaborate with various teams to extract, transform, and load data from a wide variety of data sources, including CSV, Excel, Email attachments, SmartSheet, and more.
 - Work closely with business clients, technical teams, and operations teams to address business requirements and deliver against high operational standards of system availability and reliability.
 - Develop and enhance software to extend system, application, or tool functionality, improving business processes and meeting end-client needs while working within the overall system architecture.
 - Analyze and resolve operational issues, perform detailed root cause analysis, and answer ideas for improvements, driving continuous innovation and growth.
 - Document data engineering processes, workflows, and best practices to ensure knowledge sharing and maintain a robust knowledge base.
 
Essential Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you will need to possess the following essential qualifications:
- A four-year degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related discipline, providing a solid foundation in technical skills and knowledge.
 - Experience providing oversight to data engineering projects, demonstrating leadership and project management skills.
 - Proven expertise with building, developing, maintaining, and enhancing scalable database systems, including data modeling, data warehousing, and building ETL pipelines alongside reporting solutions.
 - Broad AWS experience, including hands-on experience with AWS Glue, AuroraDB (MySQL) - RDS, Amazon Workmail, Amazon SES, S3, Lambda, Redshift, SQS, IAM (Client, Group, Jobs, and Permissions), VPC, and Infra provisioning and related components.
 - Experience working with modern data architectures, Lambda-type models, and proficiency in writing and upgrading SQL.
 - Knowledge and involvement in Open Source Data Technologies (Hadoop, Hive, Hbase, Pig, Spark, etc.), demonstrating a commitment to staying up-to-date with industry trends and advancements.
 - 2+ years of development experience in Python, Ruby, Scala, or other platform-related big data technology, showcasing programming skills and adaptability.
 - Knowledge of professional programming practices and best practices for the full software development lifecycle, including coding principles, code reviews, source control management, build cycles, testing, and operations.
 - Experience building Reporting systems like QuickSight, PowerBI, or others, and knowledge and experience building data warehouse reporting systems for Business Analysis (any technology).
 - Experience with responsive design and UI working for data entry systems (Writeback reporting systems), demonstrating an understanding of user experience and interface design.
 
Preferred Qualifications
While not essential, the following preferred qualifications will be considered a plus:
- Experience with SmartSheet or Asana or HoneyCode or Powerapp, showcasing familiarity with industry-specific tools and technologies.
 - Javascript and/or React JS knowledge/involved insight, demonstrating an understanding of front-end development and JavaScript frameworks.
 - Industry experience as a Data Engineer or related specialty (e.g., Programmer, Business Insight Specialist, Data Scientist) with a history of controlling, processing, and extracting value from large datasets.
 - Experience building data products consistently and integrating and managing datasets from various sources, showcasing data integration and management skills.
 - Query execution tuning skills using Unix profiling tools and SQL, demonstrating performance optimization and tuning expertise.
 - Experience driving large-scale data warehousing and analytics projects, including using AWS technologies - Redshift, S3, EC2, Data pipeline, and other big data technologies.
 - Experience with non-relational data sets/data stores (object storage, document or key-value stores, graph databases, column-family databases), showcasing knowledge of diverse data storage solutions.
