About Our Team

The US Multi-National Sales team is a dynamic group of six Directors of Business Development who report directly to the Vice President. Operating across various US territories, our team is dedicated to driving strategic partnerships and acquiring new business to elevate business travel solutions for our clients. As a Director of Business Development, you will play a pivotal role in this team, leveraging your expertise to close new sales and influence the travel industry.

Key Responsibilities


  • Drive Sales Growth: Manage the entire sales cycle, from identifying prospects to closing deals, ensuring consistent top-line growth for the organization.

  • Represent Amex GBT: Confidently and expertly represent the value proposition of Amex GBT to clients and stakeholders, showcasing our innovative solutions and services.

  • Strategic Direction: Set the strategic direction for bids, proposals, and negotiations, utilizing your expertise to secure large, complex deals.

  • Client Engagement: Participate in key prospect meetings, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver client-centric solutions that meet and exceed client expectations.

  • Industry Leadership: Build and maintain strong relationships with industry leaders and stakeholders, staying abreast of industry trends and developments.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with various teams to ensure seamless delivery of solutions, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation.

Essential Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will need:


  • A proven track record in business development, sales, or account management, preferably within the travel or corporate solutions industry.

  • Expertise in negotiating and closing large, complex deals, with a strong understanding of the sales process.

  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex situations and develop effective solutions.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with a focus on influencing at senior levels and building strong relationships.

  • A self-motivated, results-driven approach, with the ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of the travel industry and corporate travel solutions, with a deep understanding of the market and its trends.
