The Role
As a Capital Markets Associate, you will be responsible for securing third-party capital through various financing channels, evaluating project acquisitions and M&A opportunities, and developing standardized financial modeling and valuation procedures. You will work closely with our development, construction, and asset management teams to ensure accuracy in project data and financing assumptions, and provide financial and risk analysis support to drive informed decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
- Capital Raising: Secure third-party capital through construction debt, term debt, tax equity financing, and specialty financial products to fuel the growth of our solar energy portfolio.
- Financial Modeling: Evaluate project acquisitions and M&A opportunities through robust financial modeling, and develop standardized financial modeling and valuation procedures across teams.
- Investor Relations: Build and maintain relationships with investors, investment banks, and tax equity partners to ensure a strong network of financing sources.
- Due Diligence: Oversee the due diligence process for financing transactions and potential investments, ensuring accuracy and thoroughness in all aspects of the process.
- Collaboration: Work closely with development, construction, and asset management teams to ensure accuracy in project data and financing assumptions, and provide financial and risk analysis support to drive informed decision-making.
- Communication: Prepare impactful presentations for quarterly board and investor meetings, and communicate complex financial concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
What We're Looking For
We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven professional with a strong financial background and a commitment to advancing the renewable energy transition. The ideal candidate will have:
Essential Qualifications:
- Experience: 2-5 years of experience in clean tech, energy, or related sectors (solar experience preferred).
- Investment Banking: Investment banking experience (2-5 years) highly valued.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Math, Engineering, or a related field.
- Financial Modeling: Expertise in financial modeling and valuation methodologies.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Work Environment: Self-motivated, team-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Office365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Authorization: Unrestricted authorization to work in the U.S.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Industry Experience: Experience working in the solar or renewable energy industry.
- Financial Analysis: Experience with financial analysis and risk assessment.
- Leadership: Experience in leadership or senior roles.
