Job Summary

As an Intake Representative in our Non-Clinical Call Center, you'll serve as the main point of contact for inbound callers, managing their benefits needs from start to finish. You'll work closely with physicians' offices, diagnostic centers, and our clinical staff to ensure seamless communication and resolution of pre-certification questions or concerns. Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for inbound callers, processing requests for service, and capturing demographic and medical information to build case files.
  • Provide status updates and liaise with clinical staff when needed, ensuring timely resolution of benefits-related inquiries.
  • Investigate and resolve pre-certification questions or concerns, working collaboratively with sites, patients, and physician's offices.
  • Process Review of Service Request notifications that do not require certification of medical necessity.
  • Promptly transfer Review of Services calls that cannot be completed via the formal script to a Clinical First Level Reviewer or Medical Reviewer for completion.
  • Deliver professional, courteous, and accurate information to all callers, upholding the highest standards of customer service.

Training and Support

Upon joining us, you'll attend 6 weeks of in-depth training, designed to equip you with the knowledge and skills necessary to excel in your role. After training, you'll be guided by a mentor and supervisor who will support your performance as you take inbound calls from doctor's offices and diagnostic centers.

Requirements and Qualifications

Essential Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
  • 1-2 years of experience in customer service, healthcare, or a related field; experience with benefits management or medical terminology an asset.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to empathize with callers and provide clear, concise information.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Proficiency in computer applications, including data entry and customer relationship management (CRM) software.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a call center or customer service environment.
  • Familiarity with healthcare benefits management, medical terminology, and insurance industry regulations.
  • Certification in medical terminology, benefits management, or a related field.
