Experienced Full Stack Data Engineer – Information Ventures at Blithequark (Remote)

Job Summary

Blithequark is seeking an experienced Senior Information Specialist to join our Information Ventures team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading the design and implementation of large-scale data engineering projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and driving the development of reusable technologies to support client acquisition, onboarding, and merchant engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and implementation of large-scale data engineering projects, including data warehousing, data lakes, and ETL environments
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including merchants, product managers, and engineers to identify business requirements and develop technical solutions
  • Develop and maintain large-scale data systems, including data pipelines, data warehouses, and data lakes
  • Ensure high-quality code, system reliability, and performance, and participate in code reviews and testing
  • Drive the adoption of new technologies and architectures, including cloud computing, big data, and machine learning
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to junior engineers and team members
  • Participate in project planning, estimation, and prioritization, and ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including design documents, technical specifications, and test plans

Requirements

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in data engineering, database engineering, business intelligence, or related field
  • Strong experience with Hadoop, Hive, Apache Spark, and other big data technologies
  • Proficiency in one or more programming languages, including Scala, Python, Java, or C++
  • Experience with cloud computing platforms, including Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Microsoft Azure, or Amazon Web Services (AWS)
  • Strong understanding of data engineering principles, including data modeling, data governance, and data quality
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with ability to work with cross-functional teams

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with NoSQL databases, including Cassandra, MongoDB, or Couchbase
  • Knowledge of data integration tools, including Informatica, Talend, or Microsoft SSIS
  • Experience with data visualization tools, including Tableau, Power BI, or D3.js
  • Familiarity with machine learning and artificial intelligence technologies
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies and DevOps practices
