Publishing Manager
Project: Publishing Manager Needed for Full-Service Book Launch (45,000-word Nonfiction)
Description:
I am seeking an experienced publishing professional to act as my dedicated partner in bringing my nonfiction manuscript (45,000 words) from polished draft to full publication. My book is the anchor of my brand, speaking, and teaching work, so this project must be completed with excellence from start to finish.
What I Need:
Proofreading & Polishing: Final grammar, spelling, and punctuation check.
Formatting: Interior layout for hardcover, paperback, and eBook with professional typography and Ingram Sparks (slightly smaller book) KDP-ready files.
Cover Design Oversight: I have clear ideas for fonts, sizing, colors, and paper quality. I’d like 3–5 strong concepts, collaborative revisions, and a final design that reflects my vision.
Publishing Oversight & Coordination:
Copyright registration with the U.S. Library of Congress.
ISBNs and metadata setup.
Upload and distribution on:
Ingram Sparks (hardcover)
Amazon KDP (hardcover, paperback, eBook)
Audible/ACX (I will narrate in a LA studio; I need editing, mastering, and upload support if they do not do it)
Distribution including
My Wix-based author website
Audiobook Production Support: Provide technical oversight, editing, mastering, and upload of my narration.
Marketing Deliverables:
Metadata, categories, and pricing strategy for discoverability.
Advance review strategy (ARC distribution, Goodreads setup, Amazon early reviews).
Guidance on email list/newsletter integration for launch.
Best practices for positioning and visibility across all platforms.
Project Management: Act as my person—overseeing every step to final completion, so I can focus on marketing, speaking, and visibility.
Timeline & Payment Structure:
Payment: 1/3 upfront, 1/3 at the halfway point (when proofreading, formatting, and cover drafts are delivered), and 1/3 upon successful completion of all deliverables to my satisfaction.
Deadlines: Clear milestones and completion dates will be agreed upon in writing.
Accountability: If milestones are not met, final payment may be withheld until work is completed. Early or exceptional delivery may be eligible for a bonus.
Agreements:
A signed NDA will be required.
A signed Scope of Work agreement (provided by me) will also be required before work begins.
Who You Are:
Experienced in nonfiction publishing with proven end-to-end launches.
Detail-oriented, collaborative, and proactive in guiding authors through complex steps.
Comfortable with cover design collaboration and guiding studio-recorded audio projects.
Marketing-savvy, with an understanding of book launch best practices.
