Easement Program Specialist Remote (WA)
About the position
Responsibilities
• Support NRCS Wetlands Reserve Easements Program (WRE) in Washington.
• Perform outreach activities to educate landowners about the WRE program.
• Assist applicants in completing the WRE application workbook.
• Review maps and restoration plans to ensure compliance with NRCS guidelines.
• Coordinate with team members for site visits and technical reviews.
• Maintain proficiency in NRCS data management tools such as Conservation Desktop and NEST.
• Identify potential conservation projects and develop relationships with landowners.
• Monitor existing conservation easements and manage project tasks.
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in wildlife, environmental science, restoration ecology, or related field.
• 4 years of relevant experience in environmental science or conservation.
• Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
• Proficiency in ArcGIS and database management.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
Nice-to-haves
• Working knowledge of Farm Bill conservation easement programs.
• Experience working with private landowners.
• Field experience in wetland, grassland, or aquatic systems.
• Experience in conservation planning and project management.
• Familiarity with Lands Protection activities and transactional processes.
