Clinical Documentation Improvement Specialist (Permanent Placement)
                                Job description
A hospital based in Cleveland, OH has a Full-time remote opportunity for a Clinical Documentation Improvement Specialist with a minimum of 3 years hospital CDI experience in quality-based reviews, mortality reviews, second-level high-risk DRGs, and risk adjustment tool with University hospital experience. The Clinical Documentation Improvement Specialist will utilize their clinical expertise to review medical records, ensuring accurate and complete documentation that reflects the severity of illness and quality of care, as well as supervise 6-8 CDI Specialists providing support and education. The Clinical Documentation Specialist must have strong communication skills, be able to work independently and to work effectively in a remote team environment.
The Clinical Documentation Improvement Specialist is expected to work Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM EST to 3:00 PM PST but can be available to start as early as 6:00 AM EST for occasional meetings. This is a permenent position.
Job Qualification
• Required - Minimum 3 years hospital CDI experience
• Required - 1+ years experience with University hospital CDI experience
• Required - 1+ years second-level high-risk DRGs
• Required - CCDS and/or CDIP
• Required - RN (OH or compact state), RHIA and/or RHIT
• Required - Associates or Bachelors in HIM or Nursing or MD
• Required - Remote staff must reside in either: Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Iowa (excludes Des Moines and Waterloo), Kansas, Kentucky, Louisisna, Mississippi, Missouri (excludes Columbia, Kansas City and St. Louis), Montana, Nebraska, North Carolina, North Dekota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania (excludes Philadelphia and Allegheny County), South Carolina, South Dekota, Tennessee, Texas (excludes Austin and DeSoto), Utah, West Virginia, Wisconsin, Wyoming
