Job Overview

Duties & Responsibilities

Some of your duties may include:

1. Greet customers and assist with their shopping needs
2. Operate as a cashier and assist with self-checkout
3. Stock shelves, organize displays, and maintain store cleanliness
4. Prepare fresh foods such as salads, pizzas, and rotisserie items
5. Maintain well-organized produce displays, ensuring product quality and freshness
6. Handle a wide assortment of products including produce, meat, seafood and alcohol
7. Fulfill online grocery orders for pickup and delivery
8. Process returns for both in-store and Amazon.com purchases
9. Assist with inventory management and product deliveries

1. Lift up to 49 pounds
2. Be on the move for an entire shift (up to 8 hours)
3. Adhere to all job requirement and safety guidelines in English

What it’s like at a Fresh store

1. Safety. Your safety is important to us, so we provide safe working conditions.
2. Surroundings. You'll be working in a grocery store environment with various equipment – shopping carts, pallet jacks, stock dollies, and food preparation equipment. You'll also interact with our digital shopping technology and Dash carts.
3. Activity. Work involves frequent movement between different store areas, standing while operating registers or stocking shelves, and some lifting. In grocery departments, you may need to reach into coolers or freezers.
4. Temperature. Most areas are climate-controlled, but you may experience temperature changes when working in refrigerated sections (35°F-40°F), freezer areas (below 32°F), or near hot food preparation stations.
5. Noise level. Sound levels are minimal, what one would expect in a grocery store.
6. Dress code. Amazon Fresh provides uniform shirts for you to pair with your own khaki, black, or blue pants/jeans. Slip-resistant, closed-toe shoes are also required for safety.
7. New store opening: If you’re applying to a store that hasn’t opened yet, you’ll help prepare the store for its first customers. This may include tasks like setting up displays and shelving and unloading product deliveries. You’ll also have an extended training and onboarding period, which may be at a nearby Amazon site.
