WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE JOB: The Data Quality Analyst will work with the American Red Cross Business Systems Integration – Regulated Systems team to develop, implement, and maintain data solutions using SQL primarily in Toad and Business Objects (Webi). A principal target of data profiling is a reporting database built from the ARC’s BECS (Blood Establishments Computer System). Data is comprised of blood donors, blood products, collection sites, and sponsors. The Data Quality Analyst will provide critical support to the BECS replacement project and operational data to leadership, development teams, and end users. The Data Quality Analyst must have advanced SQL skills with the ability to perform complex data analysis and interpret and communicate the results to a broad range of customers. The Data Quality Analyst must have a natural innate curiosity about data and take the initiative to drive their own analyses in addition to performing analysis chartered by others. Analysis will include not only observation of the data in various systems, but collaboration with system owners and business teams to understand the human aspects of data capture, business data policies past, present, and future. Lastly, the analyst works with business and technical teams to implement changes in capture, transformations, and data quality rule sets. • The work location for this exciting opportunity is virtual. The selected candidate will work 100% remotely from home and can be located anywhere in the United States with a preference to work East Coast hours. • This position is term-limited to 18 months or longer and eligible for benefits Red Cross provides (see below for benefits overview). WHERE YOUR CAREER IS A FORCE FOR GOOD (Key Responsibilities): • Serves as a technical expert and liaison for reporting needs for the Biomedical business • Leads the analysis and design of business reporting needs, develops required documentation of requirements and translates them into proper system requirement specifications. • Develops queries and reports using SQL in TOAD and Business Objects (Webi). Experience with other reporting tools like AWS Quick Sight and PowerBI are a plus • Performs analyses of data and reports out high-level insights • Troubleshoots issues in reports related to data or business metric definitions • Collaborates with the business and IT on implementation of data quality tools, data stewardship roles, and standard rule-sets • Maintains an understanding of the data touch points as well as the implications of interacting with certain components of enterprise data • Provide progress updates regularly to management. Scope: Individual contributor that works under limited supervision. Apply subject matter knowledge. Capacity to understand specific needs or requirements to apply skills/knowledge. Qualified candidates must be authorized to work in the United States. The American Red Cross does not sponsor employment visas. WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED (required/minimum qualifications): • Education: Bachelor’s degree required.* • Experience: Minimum 7 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and related experience required. • 5+ years of SQL query experience. Specific experience using TOAD required. • 5+ years of experience building reports using Business Objects – WebI required. Other tools like PowerBI and Quicksight a plus • Experience with Jira is beneficial The team will manage work from a KANBAN board in Jira. So any familiarity with Jira a plus. • Must be comfortable working remote. This is an individual contributor who can work alone but can work as part of the team. We do not offer an annual bonus for this role. Note that American Red Cross salaries are aligned to the specific geographic location in which the work is primarily performed. Other factors that may be used to determine your actual salary may include your specific skills, how many years of experience you have and comparison to other employees already in this role.
