Position Summary:
Supervise and support the development of designated Maximize the Gift team members to ensure alignment with the organization’s mission and goals. Serve as the clinical expert for organ maximization, donor suitability, and donor management processes. Provide guidance and oversight to ensure team members consistently apply best practices and comply with all industry standards, regulations, and organizational policies. Stay current with national trends, research, and best practices in donation and transplantation; analyze internal performance data against national benchmarks; and recommend or implement process improvements to optimize outcomes and organizational success. Foster a culture of accountability, continuous learning, and professional growth within the team.
Essential Functions and Performance Responsibilities:
• Supervise the selection, training, development, and performance of designated Maximize the Gift team members to retain a motivated professional workforce for IDN.
• Establish and communicate job responsibilities, manage performance expectations and outcomes to maintain optimal operational performance utilizing Studer Principles.
• Oversee daily clinical operations, participate in high level of process improvement, change management, and deviation management activities
• Creating and maintaining the ORS schedule to ensure 24/7 coverage. This includes managing shift rotations, addressing time-off requests, and adjusting for weekends, holidays, and peak times.
• Leads case reviews and organizes meetings with Medical Directors, where data is reviewed, shared, and analyzed.
• Monitor performance metrics, analyzing trends, and implementing process improvements.
• Ensure compliance with CMS, AOPO, UNOS/OPTN, OSHA, IDPH, federal and state employment and other regulations, and IDN policies through annual reviews, department audits, and staying current on industry standards and regulations.
• Assist the Director with managing the operational, budgetary, and financial responsibilities and activities of the department.
• Participate in organizational strategic planning and assist with development of work system action plans and process improvement opportunities to meet organizational goals.
• Manage specific work process operational needs and self-schedule 20% in designated staff role. In addition, participate in leader on call coverage.
• Perform other duties as assigned or required.
Position Qualifications and Education Requirements:
• Minimum of 4-year degree in health care field
• A minimum of three years’ experience as a donation/procurement/recovery/allocation coordinator
• Three years’ experience in a leadership role preferred
• CPTC certification preferred or within one year of employment
• Ability to provide constructive feedback with proven results.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support & Pediatric Advanced Life support required. Prefer Fundamentals of Critical Care Support, Trauma Nurse Critical Care certification.

Physical Requirements:
• Must receive required vaccines based on outlined schedules to protect our employees, healthcare personnel, donors, recipients, and families we may come into contact. (e.g., Influenza obtained annually by December 1st.)
• Lift equipment and supplies weighing up to 20 lbs.
• Possible mental and visual fatigue associated with fast-paced, detailed work.
