Position Title: Administrative Assistant Reports To: Regional Director- Region 1 Location: Troup County, GA
Position Summary
The Administrative & Volunteer Coordinator provides front-line support for Communities In Schools of Georgia in Troup County by managing incoming calls, communicating with the Advisory Council, and coordinating volunteers and in-kind donation drives. This individual will serve as a key point of contact for community members and partners, ensuring that the needs of the organization and local sites are communicated clearly and effectively.
Key Responsibilities
Reception & Communication
Answer and direct incoming phone calls in a professional manner.
Provide accurate information about CIS programs and services.
Serve as liaison to the Advisory Council, maintaining consistent communication by phone and email.
Volunteer Coordination & Community Engagement
Recruit, schedule, and coordinate volunteers for events and activities.
Organize and manage drives for items needed by CIS sites.
Build and maintain relationships within Troup County to strengthen community support.
Administrative Support
Manage and update supervisor’s calendar.
Draft, proofread, and distribute correspondence, including letters and reports.
Maintain and update spreadsheets and other records in Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Assist with meeting preparation, including setting up the physical space and materials.
Make deposits once per month, ensuring accuracy and compliance with procedures.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent; associate’s degree preferred.
Familiarity with Troup County and its community resources strongly preferred.
Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to articulate organizational needs to diverse audiences.
Demonstrated ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Prior experience in volunteer coordination, administrative support, or community engagement preferred.
Working Conditions
Standard office environment with occasional local travel.
Some evening or weekend work may be required to support events.
