About the Role

We're seeking an experienced ED Registration Representative to join our team on a 32-hour evening shift schedule. As a key member of our Registration Services team, you'll be responsible for a variety of complex duties related to patient registration and scheduling. This is a remote opportunity with the flexibility to work from home while still being an integral part of our healthcare family.

Key Responsibilities

  • Enter Lab, Radiology, and basic ancillary service appointments into our scheduling system.
  • Coordinate multiple services for patients across various providers and campuses.
  • Process updates and corrections to patient insurance and demographic information, obtaining prior insurance referrals and authorizations as needed.
  • Collect patient liabilities prior to or on the date of service, arranging associated tests, procedures, and ancillary services according to established guidelines.
  • Prioritize visits and services to optimize the use of physician clinical staff, patient time, equipment, and facilities.
  • Obtain and verify patient insurance coverage, following insurer guidelines for pre-authorization, pre-certification, and physician referrals.
  • Communicate with patients regarding appointment times, providing standard information about preparation for scheduled procedures and services.
  • Assess patients' financial needs, directing them to financial counseling as appropriate.
  • Perform a variety of clerical duties, including retrieving medical records, faxing, collating, typing, and transcribing.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records, logs, charges, files, and related information.
  • Monitor and maintain Patient Access and Revenue Cycle work queues, ensuring a registration accuracy rate of 97% or above.

Position Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

  • A High School Diploma; an Associate or Bachelor's Degree in a Business or Healthcare-related field is preferred.
  • EPIC and secretarial experience is a plus, though not required.
  • The ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays, with a commitment to being available for training during specified hours (8-5 pm for 12 weeks if needed).
  • Once trained, you'll work a consistent 32-hour evening shift schedule (3 pm - 11:30 pm), with the understanding that shifts may be adjusted based on departmental needs.
