About the Role: Language Interpreter - Remote

As a Language Interpreter, you will play a vital role in helping individuals and organizations communicate effectively across language barriers. This is a 100% remote position, offering you the flexibility to work from the comfort of your own home, provided you reside in the United States. Our ideal candidates are fluent in both Spanish and English, with a passion for delivering high-quality interpretation services.

Key Responsibilities

• Handle telephone calls on demand, interpreting conversations between Spanish and English speakers in real-time.
• Work across a diverse range of industries, including Healthcare, Government, Insurance, Financial, Travel & Hospitality, and more.
• Interpret conversations that may be simple, complex, or technical in nature, requiring a high level of linguistic proficiency and cultural understanding.
• Utilize your language skills to facilitate meaningful interactions and connections between parties.
• Participate in video interpreting sessions (with additional training provided), adapting to new technologies and interpreting modalities.

Essential Qualifications and Skills

To succeed in this role, you will need:

• Fluency in both Spanish and English, with native or near-native proficiency.
• The ability to work a minimum of 27 hours per week, with flexibility to accommodate varying schedules.
• Mandatory Saturday and Monday shifts, ensuring coverage across key days.
• Manual dexterity to type or write notes as necessary during interpreting sessions.
• A comfortable presence on camera, as video interpreting will be a part of this role.
• A dedicated workspace at home, equipped with necessary technical requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following qualifications can be considered an asset:

• Previous experience in teaching, translation, or interpretation.
• Education or work experience related to linguistics, languages, or cultural studies.
• Familiarity with industry-specific terminology and concepts.
