A Day in the Life of a Customer Care Representative at blithequark
As a Customer Care Representative at blithequark, your day will be filled with a variety of tasks and challenges. Some of your key responsibilities will include:
- Serving as a resource or Subject Matter Expert (SME) for other team members or internal customers, providing guidance and support to ensure that our customers receive the best possible experience.
- Handling escalated calls, resolving complex customer issues in a one-and-done manner, and ensuring that our customers are satisfied with the outcome.
- Answering incoming phone calls from policyholders, agents, and third-parties, processing and identifying the type of assistance the customer needs, and providing timely and effective solutions.
- Asking appropriate questions and listening actively to identify specific questions or issues, documenting required information in computer systems, and ensuring that all customer interactions are recorded accurately.
- Owning problems through to resolution on behalf of the customer, either in real-time or through comprehensive and timely follow-up, and ensuring that all issues are resolved to the customer's satisfaction.
- Researching complex issues across multiple databases, working with support resources to resolve customer issues, and partnering with others to resolve escalated issues in a collaborative and professional manner.
- Meeting performance goals established for the position, including first call resolution, call quality, efficiency, provider satisfaction, and attendance, and continually striving to improve your skills and knowledge to exceed these goals.

Knowledge and Experience Required for this Role
To be considered for this role, you will need to have:
- Familiarity with computer and Windows PC applications, including the ability to learn new and complex computer system applications.
- At least one year of contact center customer service experience, with familiarity with multiple channels of customer contact, including phone, email, and other channels.
- All new hires will be required to successfully complete our Customer Service training classes and demonstrate proficiency in the material, as we are committed to providing our employees with the skills and knowledge they need to succeed.
- Ability to work any 8-hour shift between the hours of 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM EST, from Monday to Friday, including the flexibility to work occasional overtime based on business need.
Education and Certifications
The following education and certifications are required for this role:
- Contact Center Operations: 1 year (Required)
- High School Diploma / GED (Required)
- 440 or 220 License preferred, although not essential, as we provide support and guidance to our employees in obtaining these licenses.
- Bi-Lingual is also a plus, as we value diversity and inclusivity in our workplace.
Remote Work Requirements
This role is remote within Florida, with occasional travel to our Tampa, FL headquarters. To be successful in this role, you will need to:
- Have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy.
