Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, develop, implement, and supervise the education program and activities for a toddler or preschool classroom in a learning laboratory setting, in accordance with District policies and procedures and state regulations.
  • Create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating learning environment that promotes the social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development of each child.
  • Work with a team of educators and professionals to provide care, guidance, and developmentally appropriate learning and socialization experiences for toddler and/or preschool-aged children.
  • Supervise and maintain the classroom environment to meet Center, state, and grant requirements.
  • Mentor college students within the lab school, providing guidance and support in their educational journey.
  • Perform related duties as assigned, including observations, record-keeping, and communication with parents and colleagues.

Qualifications and Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree in child development, education, or a related field with completion of 16 units in general education.
  • A minimum of 175 days of experience in an instructional capacity in a child care or development program, working at least three hours per day within the last four years; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Possession of a Child Development Permit (CDP) at the Teacher level or above issued by the California Commission on Credentialing (CTC) prior to employment.
  • Valid First Aid/Adult and Pediatric CPR Certificate dated within one year prior to hire date.
  • Current Adult and Pediatric CPR Certificate with Health & Safety Component (15 hours) if necessary.
  • Fingerprints, Child Abuse Index, and FBI check submitted and cleared to the Department of Justice and on file with/or reported to the California Department of Social Services, Community Care Licensing Division prior to employment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree or specialized training in early childhood education or a related field.
  • Experience working in a lab school or child development center setting.
  • Strong knowledge of child development theories and best practices in early childhood education.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

We offer a competitive salary range of $5,802.25 - $7,152.10 Monthly, along with a comprehensive benefits package, including:
