About Brilla Public Charter Schools

Brilla Public Charter Schools is a growing network of schools that currently serves nearly 1,800 students from diverse backgrounds in the Bronx and is expanding to educate around 4,000 students across the Bronx and Paterson, NJ. Our Charter Management Organization (CMO), Seton Education Partners, is inspired by the Catholic educational tradition and is dedicated to helping students become young men and women of good character and spirit, prepared for excellence in high school, college, and beyond.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set the Standard: Provide academic, character, and cultural formation for students in a classroom setting that is inviting, effective, and growth-oriented.
  • Honor the Team: Visibly model the Brilla mission, develop meaningful relationships with students and families, and contribute to a disciplined, humane, and joyful classroom and school culture.
  • Make it Count: Establish and communicate standards- and content-based objectives, regularly evaluate student progress, and implement individualized learning technology programs.
  • It Starts with Them: Provide a model of courage, justice, wisdom, and self-control, while championing a positive, flexible attitude and solution-based approach to challenges.

Core Competencies

As a Brilla Elementary School Lead Teacher, you will be expected to:

  • Engage students using an inductive, inquiry-driven, collaborative, and rigorous curriculum that aligns with national and state standards.
  • Nurture in students a love of learning, a passion for reading, ordered thinking, habits of classification, and strengthen a school-wide culture of inquiry.
  • Cultivate students' higher-order thinking skills, including their ability to analyze, create, synthesize, and evaluate.
  • Use assessment data to inform instruction and targeted intervention that strengthens student achievement.
  • Create a joyful learning environment that honors the dignity of all scholars while pushing them to achieve more than they think possible.

Qualifications and Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must possess:

  • A Bachelor's Degree or higher from an accredited institution.
  • Current teaching certification as an elementary school teacher.
  • Relevant urban, elementary teaching experience with demonstrated student results (preferred).
  • Excellent spoken and written communication skills.
  • Special Education credential and experience (highly desirable).
  • Spanish language proficiency (preferred).

What We Offer

The base pay range for this position is $69,000 - $98,500 per year, depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition to a competitive salary, we offer a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits.
