Job Overview
As a Part Time Assistant Teacher, you'll play a vital role in creating a safe, engaging, and nurturing classroom environment that fosters social, emotional, and cognitive growth in our young learners. You'll work closely with our Lead Teacher to provide high-quality care and education, communicate with families, and contribute to the success of our center.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Lead Teacher in maintaining a clean, organized, and inviting classroom that promotes learning and exploration.
 - Communicate daily with families regarding student progress, needs, and activities to encourage partnership and support.
 - Develop strong professional relationships with children, parents, and colleagues to promote parent and community engagement.
 - Adhere to all minimum licensing, quality-rated, and accreditation guidelines, as well as company standards, to maintain a high-quality standard of care.
 - Prepare and serve meals and snacks for children, following our nutrition guidelines and safety protocols.
 - Utilize our science-based, proprietary curriculum and suggested supplement activities to create a fun and engaging learning environment tailored to each child's developmental needs.
 - Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, including attendance, child portfolios, USDA documentation, and other required records.
 - Partner with team members and leadership to achieve center goals around enrollment, accreditations, and family engagement.
 
Requirements and Qualifications
Essential Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
 - Genuine warmth and understanding of the needs of young children and their families.
 - Positive attitude and self-image with a commitment to innovation and creativity.
 - Strong communication skills with coworkers, parents, and children.
 - Ability to pass the state-required criminal background check.
 
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in early childhood education or a related field.
 - Knowledge of child development principles and practices.
 - Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with diverse groups of children and families.
