Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality instruction and support to students in the absence of the regular teacher
• Develop and implement lesson plans, as needed, to meet the needs of students
• Manage classroom behavior and create a positive learning environment
• Communicate effectively with school staff, teachers, and administrators
• Participate in 1:1 check-ins with your Scoot consultant to discuss school feedback and develop your skills
• Be available to work on a flexible schedule, including day-to-day and long-term assignments

Essential Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Bachelor's degree
• CO Substitute Teacher Authorization (or be in the process of obtaining)
• Background check (we'll cover the cost of the one you do with Scoot)
• Three professional references, including one from a previous direct supervisor
• A passion for education and putting students first
• An empathetic nature, a growth mindset, and a drive to be the best you can be

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous teaching or substitute teaching experience
• Special education experience or training
• Experience working with diverse student populations
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations
