We're now seeking an experienced and passionate Substitute Teacher to join our team in Teaneck, NJ. Key Responsibilities:

• Provide high-quality instruction and support to students in the absence of their regular teacher
• Develop and implement engaging lesson plans, aligned with the school's curriculum and teaching style
• Manage classroom behavior, creating a safe and inclusive learning environment
• Communicate effectively with school staff, parents, and students, ensuring a collaborative approach to education
• Participate in 1:1 check-ins with your Scoot consultant, discussing school feedback and developing your teaching skills
• Engage in ongoing training and professional development, enhancing your teaching practices and staying up-to-date on best practices

Essential Qualifications:

• Associate or Bachelor's degree, or 60+ college credits
• NJ Substitute Credential
• Three professional references, including one from a previous direct supervisor
• Background check and TB risk assessment (we'll cover the cost of this)
• Full COVID-19 vaccination
• A passion for education and putting students first
• An empathetic nature, a growth mindset, and a drive to be the best you can be

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous teaching or substitute teaching experience
• Special education or paraprofessional experience
• Experience working with diverse student populations
• Knowledge of trauma-informed teaching practices and classroom management strategies
