Penn State Brandywine, a leading institution in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) education, is seeking highly motivated and experienced Part-Time Math Professional Tutors to join our Academic Success Center. As a valued member of our team, you will play a pivotal role in fostering academic achievement and confidence in our students by providing personalized math tutoring and guidance.

About Us

Our STEM Laboratory, located within the Academic Success Center, is dedicated to providing proactive and remedial academic instruction to students, helping them to overcome challenges and excel in their studies. As a part-time Math Tutor, you will be an integral part of this mission, working closely with students to review course content, develop effective study strategies, and build their problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate individual and small group tutoring sessions, tailoring your approach to meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Regularly meet with assigned students to review course material, discuss assignments, and coach solutions to problems.
  • Teach study skills, note-taking skills, and test-taking strategies to help students develop a robust toolkit for academic success.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records of student assessment, progress, feedback, and performance.
  • Collaborate with other tutors and academic support staff to ensure a cohesive and effective support system for students.

Essential Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you must possess:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of mathematical concepts and the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with students from diverse backgrounds.
  • A passion for teaching and mentoring, with a commitment to helping students achieve their academic goals.

Preferred Qualifications
