Key Responsibilities
- Faculty and Class Support: Collaborate with faculty to ensure they are prepared to design and lead hybrid class sessions. Attend all live/synchronous class sessions and provide support to online learners before, during, and after class meetings.
 - Technology Support: Learn and master academic technology systems, including Poly Studio, Cisco videoconferencing, and Zoom. Troubleshoot equipment and systems when problems occur and provide support to instructors and online learners.
 - Peer Mentoring/TA Office Hours: Meet with students outside of class to help them overcome technical challenges and provide guidance on course-related matters while maintaining student confidentiality and FERPA regulations.
 - Communication: Keep in regular communication with course instructors and students, providing timely updates and support as needed.
 - Other Duties: Perform other tasks as required, including researching and sharing ideas for blended class facilitation in consultation with DLINQ.
 
Essential and Preferred Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following essential qualifications:
- Familiarity with technology and a willingness to quickly learn new systems, including Poly Studio, Cisco videoconferencing, and Zoom.
 - Strong written and oral communication skills.
 - Attention to detail and ability to work independently.
 - Good academic standing and satisfactory academic progress toward degree completion throughout the duration of the teaching assistantship.
 - Not a registered student in the course for which the teaching assistant is providing support.
 
In addition to the essential qualifications, the following preferred qualifications will be considered an asset:
- Prior classroom/teaching experience and/or experience facilitating online learning.
 - A quick learner with a positive attitude amid significant change.
