The Role: IT Apprentice (Remote)

We're looking for a talented and enthusiastic IT Apprentice to join our remote IT team. This apprenticeship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in IT support, networking, and asset management, while working alongside experienced professionals who will guide and mentor you. As an IT Apprentice, you'll be responsible for providing technical assistance, supporting our network infrastructure, and managing IT assets, among other key responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Technical Assistance:
  • Provide first-line support for IT-related issues, including hardware and software troubleshooting.
  • Assist in resolving user queries and ensure timely escalation of complex issues.
• Network Support:
  • Assist in the setup, configuration, and troubleshooting of network devices.
  • Support network monitoring and maintenance activities.
  • Participate in implementing network security measures.
• Asset Management:
  • Help maintain an accurate inventory of IT assets (hardware and software).
  • Assist in documenting asset management processes.
  • Support the lifecycle management of IT assets, including procurement, deployment, and retirement.
• Learning and Development:
  • Participate in training sessions and workshops to enhance technical skills and knowledge.
  • Collaborate with team members on projects to gain practical experience.

Qualifications and Skills

To be successful in this role, you'll need to meet our essential qualifications and possess the right technical and soft skills.

Essential Qualifications:

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree or certification in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Knowledge of networking concepts and protocols (CCNA certification preferred).
• Familiarity with asset management practices and tools.
• Basic understanding of Windows, Linux, and Mac operating systems and common applications.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience or coursework in asset management.
• Prior exposure to IT support or a related field.
