We are seeking a highly skilled Linux Administrator to join our team, with a focus on cloud computing services, primarily Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Terraform, and Ansible.

Job Overview

We are looking for a contract Linux Administrator with a strong background in designing, implementing, and managing cloud infrastructure to support business applications and services. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Terraform, Ansible, and deploying and managing Virtual Machines (VMs) in GCP. This role is 100% remote, with a requirement to work in the Central Standard Time (CST) zone. As a Linux Administrator, you will play a critical role in ensuring the security, scalability, and reliability of our cloud infrastructure and services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and manage GCP cloud infrastructure to support business applications and services, ensuring high availability and disaster recovery.
  • Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform to ensure efficient, repeatable, and scalable deployments.
  • Create and manage Ansible playbooks for automated configuration, deployment, and orchestration of cloud infrastructure.
  • Deploy, configure, and manage virtual machines (VMs) in GCP to support application development, testing, and production environments.
  • Ensure the security, scalability, and reliability of cloud infrastructure and services, and implement monitoring, alerting, and incident response procedures to maintain system health and uptime.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support development and deployment workflows, and provide technical guidance, documentation, and best practices for GCP infrastructure and tooling.
  • Support SAP HANA deployments and configurations within the GCP environment, and ensure compliance with cloud security, scalability, and reliability best practices.

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related technical field, such as Computer Science, Information Technology, or a similar discipline.
  • 5+ years of experience in Linux Administration, with a focus on cloud computing services, primarily Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Experience with Citrix administration, and relevant certifications (MCSE) or equivalent.
  • Strong expertise in Terraform and Ansible, with hands-on experience deploying and managing VMs in GCP.
  • Excellent understanding of cloud security, scalability, and reliability best practices, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication and documentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certifications in GCP, such as Google Cloud Certified - Professional Cloud Developer or Google Cloud Certified - Professional Cloud Architect.
  • Experience with other cloud platforms, such as Amazon Web Services (AWS) or Microsoft Azure.
  • Knowledge of containerization technologies, such as Docker, and experience with Kubernetes or other container orchestration tools.
  • Familiarity with agile development methodologies, and experience with version control systems, such as Git.
