About the Role
As a Licensed Vocational Nurse at Longleaf Bee Cave Senior Living Community, you will play a vital role in providing direct resident care services, administering medications, and performing resident assessments. You will work closely with our team of healthcare professionals to ensure that our residents receive the highest level of care and attention. Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct resident care services, following individualized plans of care for all residents
 - Administer medications, following all standards of practice, state regulations, and policies, to include all required documentation, reporting, and follow-up
 - Perform resident assessments as required by state standards/regulations and facility policy, under the direction of the Director of Assisted Living
 - Observe residents for changes in condition and report any changes immediately to supervisor and/or the Director of Assisted Living
 - Document all pertinent/relevant observations, communication with the resident's responsible party, clinical procedures, and daily assistance/care by the end of each shift
 - Complete and maintain current individualized care plans for each resident
 - Other duties as assigned by supervisor
 
Supervisory Responsibilities
The position falls under the supervision of the Director of Assisted Living and/or Director of Memory Care but is expected to perform independently and exercise good judgment. The position may assist with supervision, direction, and reviews of the work of other associates and may participate in performance appraisals and disciplinary action.
Qualifications and Requirements
To be considered for this role, you must have:
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required
 - Licensed Practical Nurse in applicable state required
 - Current CPR certification required
 - At least 1 year of related work experience required
 - Ability to sit, stand, walk, climb stairs, reach, turn, bend, stoop, crouch, and kneel, reach over the head, grasp with both hands, and fine manipulation
 - Ability to lift up to 25 pounds unassisted
 - Ability to carry, transfer, push, and pull, and reposition residents with assistance or using appropriate equipment
 
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following qualifications are preferred:
- Previous experience working in a senior living community or long-term care setting
 - Experience with electronic medical records (EMRs)
 - Certification in gerontology or a related field
