Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Alternative Education Teaching Assistant to join our team, specifically supporting 3rd and 4th-grade students. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide individualized support to students, including escorts, assistance with daily routines, and implementation of behavior plans to address specific needs and challenges.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of student progress, including data collection, observations, and reports to inform instructional decisions and behavioral interventions.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other staff members to design and implement effective behavioral strategies, promoting a positive and respectful school culture.
  • Assist with social-emotional learning initiatives, helping students develop self-discipline, self-awareness, and self-regulation skills essential for academic success and personal growth.
  • Coordinate student lunch procedures, school-wide incentives, and community events that foster a sense of belonging, teamwork, and social responsibility.

Essential Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in education, psychology, or a related field preferred.
  • Previous experience working with students, particularly in an educational setting, is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, teachers, parents, and other staff members.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple responsibilities, and maintain accurate records.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment, collaborating with colleagues to achieve common goals and support student success.
