Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced nursing educator to teach primarily adult medical-surgical nursing courses, including both classroom and clinical teaching. The successful candidate will be expected to coordinate and instruct in these courses, advise students, participate in committees, and engage in other service and scholarly activities as appropriate. This is a full-time, thirty-six-week appointment funded for one year from the date of hire with excellent potential for renewal. Full benefits are included, and the anticipated start date is as early as August 2023.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and instruct in primarily adult medical-surgical nursing courses, including both classroom and clinical teaching
 - Advise students and provide guidance on academic and professional matters
 - Participate in committees and contribute to the development of the undergraduate program
 - Engage in service and scholarly activities, such as research, publication, and presentation
 - Collaborate with colleagues to achieve the goals and objectives of the college
 - Maintain a valid nursing license and meet the requirements for RN licensure in Pennsylvania
 
Essential Qualifications
To be considered for this position, candidates must have:
- At least one graduate degree in nursing (master's or doctoral degree)
 - A valid nursing license and eligibility for RN licensure in Pennsylvania
 - Evidence of professional growth, scholarship, and mastery of subject matter
 - Excellent communication, teaching, and interpersonal skills
 
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred candidates will have:
- A doctoral degree in nursing (DNP or PhD)
 - Experience in teaching and curriculum development
 - A strong record of scholarship and research in nursing
 - Experience in working with diverse student populations
