Job Summary

As a Nursing Instructor at Concorde Career Colleges, you will be responsible for providing active and effective learning experiences for students in various educational settings, including classrooms, labs, clinical, and online environments. You will serve as a professional and academic role model, demonstrating expertise in your field and a commitment to student satisfaction. Your primary responsibilities will include teaching, lesson planning, student assessment, and maintaining a classroom environment conducive to learning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Instructional Duties:
    • Instruct classes as assigned, preparing for classes by organizing and becoming familiar with student material.
    • Prepare lesson plans and course material as required, objectively assessing students for academic performance.
    • Effectively organize and present subject matter to students, utilizing instructional plans and supplementing approved student material as needed.
    • Ensure security of assessment tools and confidential documentation, effectively utilizing and monitoring learning management systems.
  • Student Interaction:
    • Maintain a classroom environment conducive to learning, setting an example and being a role model for professionalism and conduct.
    • Provide regular and constructive feedback to students regarding academic performance, grades, professionalism, conduct, attendance, and other topics as necessary.
    • Proactively inform the Program Director of any student attendance, academic, or behavioral concerns for retention management.
    • Appropriately maintain student records, grades, and attendance to ensure accuracy.
  • Related Duties:
    • Record keeping, scanning, and other administrative tasks as needed.
    • Stay informed of current standards related to instructional methodology, participating in ongoing faculty and professional development activities.
    • Attend outside workshops and seminars to improve instructional and professional skills, as well as orientations, staff meetings, and faculty meetings as scheduled.
    • Assist with preparations for graduation ceremonies, attend graduation ceremonies as requested, and participate in student and campus activities as needed.

Qualifications

To be considered for this exciting opportunity, you must meet the following qualifications:

  • Licensure: Current and active RN or LVN license in the state of California.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited school, valid teaching credentials, completed minimum of one year full-time teaching in a state-accredited or approved RN or LVN program, or meet community college or state university teaching requirements in California.
  • Clinical Experience: Minimum of 4 years of clinical experience as an RN or LVN in the last 5 years.
  • Regulatory Qualifications: Must meet all regulatory and corporate qualifications, as well as approval from the regulatory board to hold the position.
  • Teaching Experience: Teaching experience is preferred.
