Job Summary
As a Machine Operator - Ditch Witch, you will be responsible for operating various production machines, ensuring high-quality output, and supporting the production team. This role requires a strong and diverse skillset, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Key Responsibilities
- Machine Operation: Operate production machinery, including lathes, mills, drills, saws, welders, and more, to manufacture high-quality underground construction equipment.
- Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret blueprints to set up, adjust, and operate equipment according to specifications, ensuring accurate production output.
- Mechanical Assembly: Conduct mechanical assembly of components using hand and air tools, ensuring precise and efficient production.
- Quality Control: Inspect parts for quality using measuring tools and address any defects, ensuring high-quality output.
- Maintenance and Troubleshooting: Perform basic operator maintenance to ensure equipment efficiency and prevent downtime, and provide input for troubleshooting and problem-solving to optimize production processes.
- Inventory Management: Utilize computer systems for inventory tracking and production records, ensuring accurate and efficient inventory management.
Qualifications and Experience
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Experience: 18 to 36 months of relevant experience required, with welding or mechanical repair experience preferred.
- Familiarity with SAP System: Familiarity with SAP system desirable.
- Skills: Strong reading, clerical, and basic math skills required.
- Independence and Adaptability: Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and transition between tasks efficiently.
