We're seeking an experienced and compassionate Center-Based Behavior Technician to join our team in Glendale, AZ. As a core member of our team, you'll play a vital role in providing high-quality Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy to children with autism, helping them develop critical skills and achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct client care in 1:1 and group settings, utilizing a combination of intensive teaching and natural environment training to promote skill acquisition and behavior reduction.
  • Follow prescribed behavioral skill acquisition and behavior reduction protocols as outlined in client's individualized treatment plan, developed by our Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs).
  • Collect, record, and summarize data on observable client behavior, ensuring accurate and timely documentation.
  • Assist with parent and caregiver training, supporting them in implementing strategies to promote client progress.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and caregivers regarding client progress, as instructed by BCBAs.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work and therapy environment, adhering to established procedures and safety protocols.
  • Assist BCBAs in preparation of client materials, behavior reduction assessments, and skills acquisition programming.

Essential Qualifications, Skills, and Knowledge

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

  • Current certification as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) issued by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB), or be willing to complete a 40-hour training course and sit for the RBT competency exam within 45 days of employment.
  • Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED.
  • Reliable transportation, with proof of driver's license and valid car insurance (in some cases).
  • Ability to physically perform the demands of the job, including getting down on the floor, standing up, lifting up to 50lbs, and running/moving quickly when necessary.
  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to perform repetitive tasks with precision.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong cultural competency, with the ability to remain flexible and open-minded.
  • Willingness to obtain CPR and First Aid certification, as well as a TB test (if not completed within the past year).

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following experiences and skills are highly valued:

  • Previous experience as a Behavioral Technician, working with children with autism or other learning disabilities.
  • Experience as a Teacher's Aid, Tutor, CNA, Caregiver, or Home Health Aide.
  • Strong understanding of ABA principles and practices.
