Key Responsibilities

• Teach students in grades K-12 according to their customized learning plans, helping them to catch up, keep up, and get ahead in math.
• Assist students with homework completion and provide test preparation support, including SAT and ACT.
• Develop a positive and supportive learning environment that encourages students to take risks, ask questions, and explore mathematical concepts.
• Utilize Mathnasium's proprietary curriculum and teaching strategies to deliver high-quality instruction.
• Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay up-to-date on best practices in math education.
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to ensure a collaborative and student-centered approach.

Essential Qualifications and Skills

To be successful as a Math Teacher/Tutor at Mathnasium, you will need:

• Strong math proficiency up to Algebra; proficiency through Geometry and Calculus is preferred.
• Exceptional score on Mathnasium's Math Literacy exam (material from 2nd grade and up).
• Availability to work at least 2 weekday shifts (3-4 hours per shift) in the afternoons after 3 pm.
• Clear record on a state and national background check.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to create a positive and engaging learning environment.
• Patient, flexible, and adaptable approach to working with students of varying ages and skill levels.

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following qualifications are highly valued:

• Previous experience teaching or tutoring math, particularly in a K-12 setting.
