About the Role: Substitute Teacher

We're seeking a highly motivated and passionate Substitute Teacher to join our team in Farmingdale, NJ. As a Substitute Teacher with Scoot Education, you'll have the flexibility to choose your assignments and work on your own schedule. This role is perfect for educators who want to gain hands-on teaching experience while making a positive impact on students' lives. You'll be supported every step of the way by our dedicated team, including a designated Scoot consultant who will help you develop your skills and navigate your subbing journey.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide high-quality instruction and support to students in the absence of their regular teacher
• Develop and implement engaging lesson plans to meet the needs of diverse learners
• Manage classroom behavior and create a positive learning environment
• Communicate effectively with teachers, administrators, and other school staff
• Participate in 1:1 check-ins with your Scoot consultant to discuss school feedback and develop your skills
• Take advantage of our free, online training programs to enhance your teaching skills and stay up-to-date on best practices

Essential Qualifications:

• Associate or Bachelor's degree, or 60+ college credits
• NJ Substitute Credential
• Three professional references, including one from a previous direct supervisor
• Background check and TB risk assessment (we'll cover the cost of this)
• Full COVID-19 vaccination
• A passion for education and putting students first
• An empathetic nature, a growth mindset, and a drive to be the best you can be

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience as a Substitute Teacher or in a related educational role
• Special education experience or certification
• Experience working with diverse student populations
• Strong knowledge of curriculum design and implementation

• Ability to adapt to changing situations and priorities
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Flexibility and willingness to learn
• Proficiency in technology, including educational software and platforms

Compensation, Perks, and Benefits:

We offer competitive pay rates, with the potential to earn up to $190 for day-to-day assignments and more for long-term assignments. As a W-2 employee, you'll enjoy the stability and security of a regular paycheck, with no fussing with taxes. Additional benefits include:
