Key Responsibilities
As a Part-time Virtual Legal Assistant, your primary responsibilities will include:
- Legal Research and Document Preparation: Assist attorneys with legal research and document preparation, ensuring accuracy and compliance with legal standards.
 - Document Review and Transcription: Review and transcribe legal documents, identifying relevant information for cases and maintaining confidentiality.
 - Case File Management: Manage case files using Clio software, ensuring efficient document organization and easy access.
 - Contract Drafting and Review: Draft contracts and other legal documents as required, utilizing your knowledge of contract law and drafting techniques.
 - Executive Administrative Support: Provide executive administrative support, including scheduling meetings, managing calendars, and maintaining communication with clients.
 - Document Review and Analysis: Conduct thorough document reviews to identify relevant information for cases, and provide updates on case status as needed.
 - Specialized Support: Support the team in various tasks related to special education law, including Patent law and Securities law.
 
Requirements and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
Essential Qualifications:
- Previous Experience: Previous experience in a law office setting, preferably in special education law or a related field.
 - Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize deadlines.
 - Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to maintain confidentiality in all legal documents and communications.
 - Technical Skills: Familiarity with Clio or similar document management systems, and proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
 - Research and Writing Skills: Strong skills in legal research and writing, with the ability to draft contracts and other legal documents.
 
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with Special Education Law: Familiarity with laws relating to disabilities, such as the IDEA and Section 504.
 - Contract Drafting Experience: Experience with contract drafting and review.
 - Clio Experience: Experience with Clio software or similar document management systems.
 - Education: High school or equivalent; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., paralegal studies, law, or business administration) is preferred.
