As we continue to support diverse learning needs, we are seeking a passionate and skilled Remote Intervention Specialist to join our team and deliver specialized instruction and support services virtually to students across Ohio.
Job Summary:
The Remote Intervention Specialist will develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs, collaborate with educators and families, and deliver instruction and interventions in a virtual learning environment. This role requires strong communication skills, familiarity with Ohio’s special education laws, and experience with online teaching tools.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in compliance with IDEA and Ohio Department of Education guidelines
Provide direct virtual instruction and academic interventions to students with disabilities
Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and parents to ensure accommodations and modifications are properly implemented
Conduct assessments, collect data, and report progress on IEP goals and objectives
Participate in virtual IEP meetings, parent conferences, and team planning sessions
Utilize technology platforms to deliver instruction, track student progress, and maintain documentation
Maintain accurate and timely records in compliance with district, state, and federal requirements
Provide crisis intervention and behavioral support as needed
Attend ongoing professional development related to special education and remote teaching
Qualifications:
Required:
Valid Ohio Intervention Specialist License (K-12 or specific grade band)
Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or related field
Strong understanding of IEP development, special education law, and accommodations/modifications
Proficiency in virtual learning platforms (e.g., Google Classroom, Zoom, Microsoft Teams)
Ability to work independently and manage a virtual caseload
Preferred:
Master’s degree in Special Education
Experience with remote instruction and digital learning tools
Knowledge of multi-tiered systems of support (MTSS) and positive behavioral interventions
Work Environment:
This is a remote position; candidates must have reliable internet access and a quiet workspace
Must be licensed in Ohio and able to work during school hours based on the district calendar
