Job Summary
As a Customer Care Representative at blithequark, you will be responsible for answering inbound customer service calls related to patient accounting questions. When inbound call volumes are low, you may also make outbound follow-up calls on outstanding accounts receivable. Your primary goal will be to provide exceptional customer service, resolve customer issues in a timely and professional manner, and ensure that all customer interactions are handled with empathy, understanding, and a patient-centric approach.
Key Responsibilities
- Answer inbound customer service calls and make outbound follow-up calls in a professional, service-oriented manner, ensuring that all calls are handled timely and without drops or abandons.
 - Ascertain the reason for the call and assist the caller with their questions, concerns, or problems, focusing on timely, first-call resolution.
 - Document all actions during the call in our proprietary software, ensuring that all customer interactions are accurately recorded and easily accessible for future reference.
 - Participate in regular 1x1s and huddles with leadership to review performance opportunities, receive coaching, and discuss strategies for continuous improvement.
 - Escalate complex customer issues to senior team members or leadership as needed, ensuring that all customers receive the support and resolution they require.
 
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess exceptional customer service skills, including effective and efficient problem-solving and analytical skills. You should have a professional and calming tone of voice, complete command of the English language, and the ability to articulate complex information in a clear and concise manner. Additionally, you should be able to:
- Effectively summarize customer interactions and document all actions in our proprietary software.
 - Facilitate conversations with customers and establish a clear understanding of their issues or concerns.
 - Perform essential job functions with a high degree of independence, flexibility, and creative problem-solving techniques.
 - Maintain control of customer interactions, de-escalating issues and instilling confidence that resolutions have been found.
 - Function effectively under stress, managing conflicting demands on time and attention, and sometimes working with difficult personalities.
 - Interpret and apply reimbursement aspects of managed healthcare contracts, ensuring that all customer interactions are handled in accordance with relevant regulations and guidelines.
 
Essential Qualifications
- High school education or equivalent required.
 - 1-2 years of prior experience in an inbound call center and/or customer service environment, preferably in a healthcare setting.
 - Knowledge of hospital patient account billing, 3rd party reimbursements from insurance companies, and government payers is highly desirable.
 
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a remote call center environment, with a proven track record of success in a similar role.
 - Strong understanding of patient accounting principles, including billing, coding, and reimbursement.

Compensation, Perks, and Benefits

- Hourly pay rate: $14.50 - $21.80 per hour, depending on location, qualifications, and experience.
