As an External Support Engineer at Blithequark, you will play a critical role in supporting external content creation teams that use the tools provided by our internal development team. You will be the bridge between the content teams and the tools engineering team, providing technical support, creating reference materials, and advocating for tools and workflow improvements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support to external content teams regarding the use of content tools, ensuring seamless integration and efficient workflow.
  • Create comprehensive reference materials and provide training to get external teams up to speed with the toolset, promoting knowledge sharing and adoption.
  • Solve and debug possible issues with tools and workflows to quickly resolve issues for users, minimizing downtime and optimizing productivity.
  • Escalate complex or problematic issues to the tool development team, and collaborate with production to track these issues in JIRA, ensuring prompt resolution.
  • Advocate for tools, workflow improvements, and suggestions from external teams, driving continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Partner with other engineers to develop tools and processes that improve efficiency and quality, fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence.
  • Guide or lead cross-disciplinary dialogs to drive features from initial concept to completion, ensuring alignment and effective communication.
  • Exemplify reliability, accountability, and professionalism in all work-related interactions, setting a high standard for the team.

Essential Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Computer Science or related degree, or equivalent work experience, providing a solid foundation in technical principles.
  • Experience supporting a live service or tool environment, demonstrating ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic setting.

Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to read and understand C# code, enabling effective collaboration with development teams.
  • Good written and verbal communication, including working with external partners, facilitating effective communication and knowledge sharing.
  • Positive attitude and ability to receive and provide objective and constructive feedback, promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Excellent organization skills, enabling prioritization and management of numerous requests simultaneously.
  • Self-motivating and able to work independently, with minimal supervision, demonstrating autonomy and accountability.

Preferred Qualifications

Additional Experience and Skills

  • Unity 3D game and tool development experience, providing expertise in game development and tooling.
  • Experience with Jira, Confluence, or other defect tracking software, demonstrating ability to work with project management tools.
  • iOS and Android mobile development experience, expanding skillset and versatility.
  • 5 years' experience in delivering production-level code in a professional environment, showcasing expertise in software development.
