We're now seeking an experienced Payroll Administrator I to join our remote team and drive success in our US payroll operations.

About the Role

As a Payroll Administrator I at Pinterest, you'll be responsible for managing the payroll processing for over 3,000 US employees, ensuring timely and accurate payments, and maintaining compliance with multi-state and local tax regulations. Key Responsibilities

  • Process semi-monthly payroll and equity payrolls for 3,000+ US multi-state, exempt, and non-exempt employees, following established procedures and meeting deadlines.
  • Handle off-cycle payments as needed, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
  • Maintain Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and respond to employee and cross-functional team inquiries and requests in a timely and relevant manner.
  • Perform quarter-end and year-end reconciliations and reporting, and process tax amendments as required.
  • Support 401K, workers' compensation, SOX, and financial audits, providing necessary documentation and information.
  • Review timesheets for payroll processing, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve or support new business processes, driving efficiency and innovation.
  • Take on ad hoc duties and projects as needed, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to adapt.

What We're Looking For

To succeed in this role, you'll need a strong foundation in payroll administration, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Here are the essential qualifications and preferred skills:

Essential Qualifications

  • BS degree or equivalent experience in Accounting, Business, Finance, or Human Resources.
  • 5+ years of full-cycle exempt/non-exempt payroll experience, with a strong understanding of payroll processing and compliance.
  • Knowledge of multi-state and local tax compliance requirements, as well as final pay and overtime rules by state.
  • Proficiency in Excel, including vlookup, pivot tables, and experience with large data sets.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with employees and cross-functional teams.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience using Workday or ADP SmartCompliance, with a strong understanding of payroll systems and technology.
  • Knowledge of payroll reporting requirements related to Equity transactions, such as stock options and RSUs.
  • Agile and adaptable, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of $64,600-$133,000 USD, reflecting your skills and experience. You'll also be eligible for equity and benefits, including:
