About the Role: Pharmacy Technician - Data Entry and Customer Service
As a Front End Pharmacy Technician with Omnicare, a CVS Health Company, you'll be an integral part of our team, working in a closed-door pharmacy environment. Your role will be multifaceted, focusing on order entry tasks, collaboration with pharmacists and other team members to ensure accurate medication dispensing, and delivering exceptional customer service. You'll be the linchpin in our efforts to provide top-notch care to patients in skilled nursing facilities, assisted living communities, and chronic care settings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform order entry tasks with precision and efficiency, ensuring timely and accurate processing of prescriptions.
 - Collaborate with pharmacists and other team members to ensure the medication dispensing process is seamless and error-free.
 - Triage customer service requests effectively, directing inquiries to the appropriate department and resolving issues promptly.
 - Calculate and verify correct dosages based on prescriptions, demonstrating a strong understanding of pharmaceuticals and their applications.
 - Assist in reviewing narcotic prescriptions to ensure they are processed in a timely manner, adhering to regulatory requirements.
 - Provide critical information to dispensing pharmacists regarding allergies, drug interactions, therapeutic duplications, and other flagged concerns.
 - Create and maintain accurate and up-to-date customer records, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
 - Deliver exceptional customer service, responding to patient and customer inquiries in a professional and compassionate manner.
 
What You Bring: Essential Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you'll need:
- Certification, licensure, or registration as a pharmacy technician, as required by state law.
 - A minimum of one (1) year of experience as a pharmacy technician or in a call center environment, demonstrating your ability to handle customer service and data entry tasks effectively.
 - A high school diploma or equivalent (GED), with verifiable educational credentials.
 - Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
 - A detail-oriented approach to work, with a focus on accuracy and precision in data entry and customer service tasks.
 
Preferred Qualifications: Additional Skills and Experience
