Adjunct - Clinical Mental Health and School Counseling
We are accepting applications for Part-Time Adjunct Faculty for Online Teaching.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• Have an earned Master's degree in counselor education, preferably from a CACREP-accredited program.
• Have sustained memberships in professional school counseling organizations
• Possess active K-8 and 5-12 licensure as a school counselor in Iowa
• Ongoing school counseling professional development and K-12 engagement as a school counselor in Iowa schools
DUTIES:
• Required monthly meetings between Education Department Chair, Counseling Chair, and School Counseling Program Representation to ensure ongoing K-12 School Counseling assessment and curriculum throughout the program
• Will report to both the Counseling Chair and the Education Department Chair, with the Education Department Chair having primary oversight of the Professional School Counseling Program
• Teaching graduate-level School Counseling (SC) courses
• Plan, evaluate, and revise curricula, course content, course materials, and methods of instruction
• Actively supporting the management and administration of the department
• Maintaining membership and actively participating in the work of appropriate professional organizations (E.g., American Counseling Association)
• Keep abreast of developments in the field by reading current literature, talking with colleagues, and participating in professional conferences.
• Supervise graduate practicum, internship, and research work.
• Successfully engage with students from a wide range of backgrounds, races, cultures, ethnicities, sexual preferences, abilities, and nationalities in a manner that positively promotes the Mental Health Counseling field’s impact on diversity, equity, and inclusion.

DESIRED/PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Three years school counseling experience in the State of Iowa
• Evidence of sustained professional development, research, scholarly activity, service, and advocacy in counseling
• Prior experience with course design and online teaching, ideally on Blackboard and Tevera
• Possess other recognized school counseling-related credentials (e.g., NCSC; ACS)
• Familiarity with Iowa School Counseling, ASCA, and CACREP standards
