Data Scientist, AI Analytics, Strategy and Activation
Job Description:
• Design, train, test, and implement AI/ML models and algorithms to optimize processes across business units using state-of-the-art techniques
• Conduct data exploration and preprocessing to identify features and improve model performance
• Fine-tune models for production environments and maintain model performance after deployment
• Coordinate and manage activities of vendor support or technical staff and translate business needs to technical requirements
• Stay up-to-date with AI/ML research and identify AI opportunities to improve efficiency across functions
• Contribute to development and activation of Lundbeck US’s AI strategy aligned with business goals
• Document AI models, methodologies, and processes and share best practices
• Partner with Advanced Analytics and Omnichannel Customer Engagement team and cross-functional teams on requirements, solution development, and implementation
Requirements:
• Accredited bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Engineering, Mathematics, Economics, etc.)
• 4+ years of relevant experience in AI/ML model development, deployment, and optimization for marketing, sales and/or commercial initiatives
• Strong proficiency in predictive modeling and machine-learning techniques including cluster analysis, multivariate regression/tree-based analysis, neural networks, reinforcement learning, unsupervised/supervised ML, Bayesian/Monte Carlo/Bootstrapping
• Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or Java
• Hands-on experience with NLP, Deep Learning, and large language models (LLMs)
• Experience working with cloud platforms and MLOps for model deployment
• Familiarity with version control systems, such as Git
• Ability to tackle complex problems independently and provide practical, scalable AI/ML solutions
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with capacity to translate data into business insights
• Willingness/ability to travel up to 20% domestically
• Preferred: ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously
• Preferred: experience leading projects or teams
• Preferred: previous experience in pharmaceutical or biotech industries
• Preferred: in-depth experience with pharmaceutical datasets (first-party patient data, third-party claims, EHR, demand data)
• Preferred: excellent oral and written communication skills and familiarity with regulatory standards in the pharmaceutical industry (e.g., GxP, ALCOA+)
