About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to join our Revenue and Planning Technology team within the Technology group at blithequark. As a Senior Data Engineer, you'll bring your expertise in data engineering, collaboration, and analysis to design and deliver analytics solutions that make data analysis easier and more effective. You'll be an integral part of a dynamic team that's constantly evolving and improving.
Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with source data application teams and product owners to design, implement, and support analytics solutions that drive business insights and informed decision-making.
- Implement data migration and data engineering solutions using Azure products and services, including Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure Data Factory, Azure Functions, Event Hub, Azure Stream Analytics, Azure Databricks, and more.
- Perform multiple aspects of the development lifecycle, including design, cloud architecture, ingestion, preparation, data modeling, testing, CICD pipelines, performance tuning, deployments, utilization, BI, alerting, and support.
- Provide technical leadership and collaborate within a team environment, as well as work independently as needed.
- Be part of a DevOps team that fully owns and supports their product, driving the development of coding standards, best practices, and security and protection guidelines.
- Mentor others on technical and domain skills to create multi-functional teams.
Essential Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you'll need:
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Technology, Information Systems (CIS/MIS), Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience/training.
- 3+ years of programming solution development experience using agile, DevOps, working in a product model that includes designing, developing, and implementing large-scale applications or data engineering solutions.
- 3+ years of data analysis experience using SQL.
- A blend of Development, Operations, and Support experience in several of the following tools/platforms:
- Scripting: Python, Flash, Unix, SQL.
- Data Platforms: Teradata, Cassandra, MongoDB, Prophet, SQL Server, ADLS, Snowflake.
- Azure Cloud Technologies: Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Azure Mass Storage, Azure Data Lake, Azure Power Applications, and Azure Functions.
- CI/CD: GitHub, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, Terraform.
- BI Analytics Tool Stack - Cognos, Tableau, Power BI, Alteryx, Denodo, and Grafana.
- Data Warehousing: DataStage, Informatica.
- Data Governance and Protection: Informatica Axon and EDC, BigID.
Preferred Qualifications
To take your application to the next level, consider the following preferred qualifications:
- 3+ years of programming solution development experience using agile, dev ops, product model that includes designing, developing, and implementing large-scale applications or data engineering solutions.
- 3+ years of data analysis experience using SQL.
- 3+ years of full-stack development experience, preferably in Azure.
- 3+ years of cloud development and data lake experience (preferably Microsoft Azure), including Azure EventHub, Azure Data Factory, Azure Functions, ADX, ASA, Azure Databricks, Azure DevOps, Azure Mass Storage, Azure Data Lake, Azure Power Applications, and Power BI.
- Aircraft industry experience.
Skills, Licenses, and Certifications
To excel in this role, you'll need:
- Proficiency with the Azure Technology stack for data management, data ingestion, capture, processing, curation, and consumption layers.
- Expertise in providing functional direction within the Azure Native cloud services.
- Azure Development Track Certificate (preferred).
- Flash Certification (preferred).
