As a Ramp Agent, you will be responsible for a range of tasks that require physical stamina, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely lift, load, unload, and transport baggage, mail, and cargo to and from aircraft, ensuring timely connections by guiding incoming and departing aircraft from gate positions.
  • Safeguard cargo, baggage, and mail from damage, loss, and weather conditions, exercising utmost care and attention to detail.
  • Safely drive and operate ground equipment such as tugs, belt loaders, and tow tractors in areas of congestion, demonstrating a high level of operational competence.
  • Operate baggage scanners and computers to ensure baggage is routed accurately to customers' destinations, utilizing technology to streamline processes.

As a Ramp Agent, you will work in a fast-paced environment that requires flexibility and adaptability. Scheduling is based on operational needs, with shifts ranging from early morning to overnight. You can expect to work between 20 and 40 hours per week, depending on your seniority.

What to Expect

The role of a Ramp Agent is physically demanding and involves bending, lifting, standing, and walking. You will be required to lift and handle bags weighing up to 50-70 pounds, often in harsh weather conditions. Essential Qualifications

To succeed as a Ramp Agent at blithequark, you will need:

  • A high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency.
  • To be at least 18 years of age and have authorization to work in the United States.
  • A valid driver's license.
  • Proficiency in English.
  • The ability to pass a physical ability test (PAT).
  • To wear required company-approved Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • The ability to hold airport-specific requirements such as a SIDA Badge and Customs Seal.
