Graduate Intern, Sustainability - Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Reporting (Summer 2026)

The Delta sustainability team believes that setting a bold vision and accelerating our work to deliver sustainable travel experiences and achieve net-zero emissions by 2050 is both good for our planet and a business imperative to ensure Delta's long-term success.
The Sustainability Graduate Intern will have the opportunity to gain experience in sustainability by working cross-functionally on Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) reporting.
The Sustainability Intern will work on-site at Delta's World Headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia.
Primary Functions
• Support efforts to respond to ESG surveys, ratings and rankings prioritized by the Company
• Help maintain documentation of process flows and procedures around ESG data collection, verification and audit
• Conduct research on industry trends, regulations, best practices and emerging technologies related to sustainability
• Benchmark ESG performance and disclosures against industry peers and established standards to identify gaps
• Assist with implementation of new sustainability initiatives and the development of educational and outreach materials
• Prepare and present reports on sustainability initiatives, progress, and outcomes to stakeholders and management
• Act as an advocate for sustainability, raising awareness and promoting sustainable practices both internally and externally
What You Need To Succeed (Minimum Qualifications)
• Currently enrolled in a master’s program at an accredited institution, preferably with a focus on sustainability or business
• Proactive and able to work independently
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Ability to analyze data, collect information, and utilize tools for data analysis
• Excellent verbal and written communication, critical thinking, multi-tasking, and time management skills
• Able to commit to the duration of the internship timeline: June through August
• Consistently prioritizes safety and security of self, others, and personal data.
• Embraces a diverse set of people, thinking and styles.
• Possesses a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency.
• Is at least 18 years of age and has authorization to work in the United States.
What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)
• Academic background or experience in climate action, data science, environmental studies and/or sustainability
• Proven work experience in sustainability, environmental management, or a related field
• Professional background in related field, such as management consulting, audit, or roles with analytical, sustainability, or strategy focuses
• Familiarity with relevant environmental regulations (CSRD, CA SB261 & SB253), certifications, and reporting frameworks (e.g. Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB), and the Taskforce on Climate Financial Disclosures (TCFD))
• Passion for sustainability and a commitment to promoting environmentally responsible practices
