Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Remote Healthcare Customer Support Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our customer support team, you will play a vital role in engaging with our members, addressing their healthcare needs, and educating them on the benefits and services available to them. Your primary focus will be on making outbound and receiving inbound calls from members to schedule doctor appointments, assist with Health Needs Screenings, and facilitate payments to secure enhanced benefits.
Key Responsibilities
- Make outbound calls to members to schedule doctor appointments, assist with Health Needs Screenings, and facilitate payments to secure enhanced benefits
- Receive inbound calls from members and provide exceptional customer support to address their healthcare needs and concerns
- Influence members to take advantage of additional benefits available by educating them on enhanced services and recommending preferred providers
- Educate members on the utilization of Emergency Departments in non-emergent conditions and the impact on their benefits
- Identify and overcome barriers to ensure members complete needed health screenings, obtain necessary services, or make payments to secure enhanced benefits
- Review each member profile prior to outreach to identify areas of opportunity and develop personalized engagement strategies
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives to ensure department and company goals are met and exceeded
- Review and analyze data from call reports to make adjustments to call approaches and optimize member engagement
- Act as a secondary resource for the Member Services or Provider Services call centers, providing support and guidance as needed
Essential Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following essential qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred
- Minimum 2 years of experience in customer service, healthcare, or a related field
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with members and internal stakeholders
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and overcome barriers to member engagement
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities and circumstances
- Strong technical skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with customer relationship management (CRM) systems
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following preferred qualifications will be considered an asset:
- Experience working in a healthcare or insurance environment, with knowledge of healthcare benefits and services
- Certification in customer service or a related field, such as Certified Customer Service Representative (CCSR) or Certified Healthcare Customer Service Representative (CHCSR)
- Bilingual or multilingual skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with members who speak languages other than English
